The Perfect Nautical Wedding Guest Dress

Banana Republic Tweed Stripe Asymmetrical-Hem Wedding Guest Dress

Summertime often means a bunch of weddings to attend, and finding the perfect wedding guest dress is something I always have a lot of fun with. Earlier this month we celebrated our two beautiful and amazing friends Georgina and Matt as they tied the knot! #suchawinforheasman

The wedding took place Friday morning on a fabulous cruise ship — yep, a cruise! How cool is that?

I wore this Banana Republic dress that I first saw on Damsel in Dior’s blog post (I’m a huge Jacey fan) and I just had to have it!

I was a little skeptical if it would work for me — it’s kind of out of my comfort zone. But I tried it on at home and after wearing it around the house for a while I decided, screw it, I can rock this look!

The fabric is almost tweed-like, yet still light and airy. And the stripes were giving me a nautical vibe, which felt perfect for a cruise wedding in July. And the best part about this wedding guest dress? POCKETS! Doesn’t get any better than that!

I kept the jewelry simple and paired it with a chunky sandal to keep things casual and summery. And of course I had my trusty Quay Australia sunglasses and my favorite accessory this year, my Kinilush basket bag.

Sadly, we did not take part in the actual cruise (believe me, there was some major #fomo there), so we disembarked in the afternoon and found a fun bar to keep the celebration going.

This dress was definitely a different look for me but I had a lot of fun playing around with it and trying something new. I’m already looking forward to wearing this at a future event!

Has anyone experimented recently with a look outside their comfort zone? I bet you slayed it — let me know in the comments!
